Note: There were two copies of this as posts. When I moved a whole bunch of stuff from posts to pages, the two copies were merged. I was, however, lazy, so instead of merging them right now, the first is under the second.

Forward declaration of terms:

  • Entireverse
  • Multition (Multi + tition)
  • Cast (operation, think Programming)
  • Rule-set
  • Greater/Lesser deity region
  • Rule-set owner
  • Rule-set manager
    • Steward (Master/Apprentice)
  • Anchorverse
  • Mortal immortal
  • Immortal mortal

A rule-set is an area with that has a set of rules in regards to how it operates, such as how hammer-space works.

A cast occurs when something moves from one rule-set to another. During a cast, an attempt is made to modify the item to be compatible with the destination rule-set. The more different the rule-sets are, the more it hurts. In case of failure, one (or possibly more) of several things happen:

  • The item is rejected and returned to where it came from.
  • The item is destroyed
  • The item is frozen and flagged to be recovered by a rule-set owner or manager. Patching of the rule-sets may result.

Continue after you have sufficiently blown your mind with how big the universe is.

Continuing on, a multition is a rule-set that contains one or more multi-verses or universes (or both). From here down, there may exist lesser deity regions of any size containing any number of rule-sets as large as, but not including, a multition. Lesser deity regions are ruled by imperfect gods and such. Here are some examples of lesser deities:

A Greater deity region contains at least one multition. Unlike lesser deities, greater deities must be all-knowing and perfect, or their entire rule-set (and everything in it) will cease to exist. As a side note, if something is truly forsaken by a greater deity, that item ceases to exist.

An unspecified number of level higher, at the top, is the Entireverse. As far as we know, there is only one due to the fact that the edges have not been found and, if the edges could be found, the Rule-sets on either side of the edge would be so different that it would be impassable.

The Anchorverse is a special rule-set in the Entireverse that contains rule-sets that are branched from in other locations. A primary example would be our universe (with planet earth and such). It enables the Entireverse to update other rule-sets in an efficient manner.

To be continued…

Hello world!  I have created a structure of sorts that should allow one to send characters from universe A to universe B in a more standard fashion.  The slight problem I currently have is that it is all stored in my head, it’s not written down anywhere, and I am a lazy bum. I will attempt to post all of that stuff in a bit, but if you (The Internet) want’s it sooner, feel free to pester me.  I’ll introduce some terms that will prove useful in defining the “Laws”.
Entireverse – Compared to the Entireverse, “The Universe” is tiny itty bitty. It contains all story lines, universes in story lines, and etc.  As far as we know, there is only one due to the fact that the edges have not been found and if the edges Could be found, the Rule-sets on either side of the edge would be so different that it would be impassable.
Rule-set – A set of rules that define how a certain section in the Entireverse operates.
Cast – What happens when you are moved from Rule-set A to Rule-set B. The more differing the Rule-sets are, the more it hurts. More on this later.
Multition (Multi<verse> + <Par>tition) – The next size up from Multi-verse. There are an undefined number of sizes in-between the Entireverse and a Multition.
